points based system

The work permit system has now been replaced by Tiers 2 and 5 of the Points Based System.

Employers wishing to bring polo grooms, players, trainers and coaches to the UK are required to apply to the UK Border Agency for a sponsor licence and must be approved in advance before they can sponsor a migrant.

The UK Border Agency will carry out appropriate checks before deciding whether to grant a sponsor licence.

Under the system sponsors must have various systems in place and comply with certain duties. The UK Border Agency will monitor sponsors behaviour and compliance with their duties and if they consider that a sponsor has not been complying with their duties, has been dishonest in its dealings or otherwise poses a threat to immigration control they may withdraw the sponsor licence or downgrade it.

In parallel to the new system of sponsorship, the UK Border Agency have introduced a regime of offences relating to the employment of illegal migrant workers including civil penalties and criminal offences.

Polopermits is fully qualified to manage all of your Points Based System licensing and sponsorship requirements.
